052414 CKC May Challenge Blog Hop

So glad you could make it to our monthly challenge hop for Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog!
You should have arrived here from our wonderful May Guest Designer Laura.

The challenges this month were:

Using my "As I Wish" main kit & my "Hit the Road" add-on kit (seen HERE) I have been working on a mini-book about our Spring Break vacation earlier this month. We had planned a camping trip to Georgia with a quick visit to Florida for oranges & the beach & a few days in the mountains of Tennessee.

As the saying goes, The best laid plans of mice & men...

A severe weather system set up while we were traveling to bring us flooding rains & the possibility of tornadoes for most of our time away. Our plans changed from tent camping to cabin camping, and our destination from Tennessee to Savannah, Georgia...

We did end up getting a quick look at Nashville, Tennessee on the way home.

Now hop your way on to Julene!

051614 CKC May Challenge #3 Bucket List

The latest & greatest challenge over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is:

Incorporate a Bucket List of things you would like to do/accomplish.  It could be a life list, crafting list, travel list....be creative!

This month my blog turned 2!
I've been mulling over some goals for the next year & decided this challenge was the perfect way to put it out there & be accountable.

Tagging, improve photos, Scripture, post more & tutorials.
I used a screen capture of my birthday blog post for the image.

I thought these numbered geotags were perfect to hang my banners from!

The travel-themed kit this month really suited this layout.

Now rise to the challenge & create!
Make sure you share at Mr. Linky.

And remember - today is the LAST DAY to post your PRIZE WINNING entry
on the NSD Color Challenge posts & opening page grand prize over at CKC. Get busy, now!

051014 Novi Megameet Scrapbook Convention

(link here)
Retail therapy - gotta love it!
The sad part, though, is that this year I went solo :~(
Missed you, Lynnette xo

Pre-registration has it's perks - got in an hour early.

First stop? Jenni Bowlin to check out the vintage stuff before it's all gone
First Scrapperazzi sighting - there's Jenny!

We had a nice conversation about antiquing. Her husband was wrapping up my things (see below) and he picked up the cast iron soap dish & said to her, What's this? She explained & he asked, When did you get this? and she says, Oh, you know...
How many times have I had THAT conversation, lol!

Next Scrapperazzi sighting? Melissa Frances!
She has the most romantic & whimsical things...
some new paper lines. I got a PL type pack of sweet cards.

Final Scrapperazzi sighting? Tim Holtz!
A few new things to play with

You must visit their website - amazing things!

A few more goodies...

I shopped 'til I dropped!

Power lunch

Drove home, cleaned up the house, got a nap,
then off to dinner at BD's Mongolian Barbecue.

Thanks for sharing my day with me :~)

050814 CKC May Tutorial Post

Bethany chose great inspiration kits from Paper Camelia that were full of fun.
I hope you have been adventurous & begun to put your May kit together!

Here is a side-by-side view of my papers next to the inspiration.
Remember, I used the Fancy Pants "As You Wish" line for my papers.

I counterfeited the "Wish" large chevron...

I found a similar large diagonal stripe which I cut in half.

I need the diagonal going the other way, so I cut the right side in half again.

Now I can give the two pieces a half turn.
They don't quite mate up so I will do a little trimming.

Next is the "Collection" paper B-side.

I knew I had the perfect stamp set for this.
Positively ancient Heidi Swapp foam!
I thought this would look FAB in glitter.

Well, I must confess - this was a flopped forgery!
I transferred glue from my hands onto the paper which left
extra glitter plus the adhesive didn't go on evenly. Boo!

Plan B: Use washi tape!
I simply cut freehand on the diagonal & mimicked the pattern.

I chose to work in a 6x6" format as these fussy little
patterns can be tedious in a larger 12x12" paper.

My final paper couldn't have been easier ("My World").

Mine is "True North" - just grabbed a different PL card.

Having the cards saved me a lot of effort, although they also would have been fun to forge.

Hoping that we help give you the courage to raid your own stash
& maybe find an innovative way to recreate the inspirations!

050114 May Counterfeit Kit Reveal Blog Hop

In the very merry month of May, we welcome the lovely Laura as
our Guest Designer at Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog.

Our inspiration kits are from Paper Camelia.

April 2014 Main Kit
April 2014 Add-On Kit
April 2014 Everyday Life Kit

Loving the map pages! Much to forge this month :~D
So let's go look in the Magic Blue Box...

So happy to see the Fancy Pants As You Wish card pack included in the Everyday Life Kit.
They were a great jumping off point, and many of the papers were from that line.
I like it so much, in fact, that all of my papers were a counterfeit of this line!

Introducing: As I Wish

I included many elements such as stars, wood veneers, bicycles, and travel elements.

And because I knew I would be taking a road trip...
a "Hit the Road" add-on kit!

Now don't forget to "hitch a ride" to the next Master Forger's May Counterfeit Kit.

And be SURE not to miss the big doins at CKC on National Scrapbook Day Weekend, May 3-4.
Sponsors, ***PRIZES***, and lots of creative challenges & inspiration!
